Learn the difference between grid inverters and battery inverters

A solar inverter is an electronic device that converts the energy produced by solar panels into electricity for daily consumption in a home or business.

Grid inverters vs. battery inverters: what's the difference?

Firstly, there are two types of inverters, which differ in how they work: grid inverters and battery inverters.

The former work with the electrical grid, injecting energy into the domestic grid, with or without battery storage. The latter work autonomously, with or without an electrical grid, always requiring a battery.

Similarly, grid inverters indirectly power loads, unlike battery inverters, which power them directly.

From the same point of view, it is important to note that the former are suitable for installations connected to the grid. Unlike the latter, which are applicable not only to isolated installations without a grid, but also to installations with an electrical grid.

In conclusion, in the event of a failure, grid inverters do not work, whereas with battery inverters, the customer can draw energy from the batteries if the power grid fails.
