The Regional Coordination and Development Commission of the Center (ccdrc) has identified for the thirteenth consecutive year the gazelle companies existing in the Central region of Portugal.

On June 25, 2025, Solarshop received the Gazelle Company 2024 distinction at the Ourém Municipal Theater.

This distinction is synonymous with the growth that Solarshop has had in the solar market in Portugal and the strengthening of the company on various levels. It is listed in the economic sector "Retail trade, except motor vehicles and motorcycles".

In order to be included in the ccdrc list, companies must meet the following requirements:

• Be headquartered in the Central region;
• Have been established between 2015 and 2020;
• Show business volume growth exceeding 20% per year in 2021, 2022, and 2023;
• Employ at least 10 workers in 2023;
• Have a turnover equal to or greater than 500 thousand euros in 2023.

The number of gazelle companies has grown at a galloping pace, with 181 companies from various economic sectors being awarded.

There was an increase in the number of jobs between 2020 and 2023, thus proving that these are companies with steady growth and a high business volume.

Leiria repeats the feat and is again the region with the most gazelle companies

The Leiria region stands out with a high average productivity, being above the regional average and having a positive and competitive export volume, thus strengthening the position of companies in the national market and their respective sectors and reinforcing regional competitiveness.

Together, the Aveiro, Coimbra, and Leiria regions are responsible for 80% of the total exports of gazelle companies in 2023.
